We are looking for a dynamic and engaging Employment Advisor to join our team at Volunteer Centre Hackney and help people with mental health issues and other high support needs into paid employment.

Our Step Up project has been successfully supporting City and Hackney residents into volunteering and paid employment for four years, and are recognised as a key provider in people’s recovery journey and as a key partner by all of City and Hackney’s mental health services.

We are seeking a candidate who has a real understanding of the barriers faced by people who have extensive mental health support needs, and who may have never worked in a paid role, to progress towards life goals. You must be very well practiced in delivering support to people in writing CVs’, job applications, cover letters, job searching, and interview practice and also be able to deliver group workshops.

We offer flexible working, a generous annual leave allowance, therapeutic supervision and ongoing mentoring and training as you need. You will be given flexibility and creativity to develop your own working style, with the support of your manager and colleagues.
