One off activities can be a great way to try volunteering for the first time. There are lots of one off events happening throughout the summer, and you can join a team like St Joseph’s Event Squad to get the latest local one-off roles or Our Parklife at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Later on in summer, help out at the free Hidden River Festival, or get in the spirit and take part in Hackney Carnival – read more about the roles here!
Share, grow and socialise as a Community Gardener with Beecholme Community Garden where you can learn gardening skills or share your knowledge with others at these regular gardening sessions in Clapton. No previous experience needed!
Get a breath of fresh air and make new friends at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as a Group Conservation Volunteer where you’ll help contribute to the conservation of the park.
Hit the ground running with these opportunities.
For a flexible but regular role, become a KEEN London Volunteer Coach and help run free weekly sports and games sessions for children and young adults with a wide range of disabilities. Not only are the sessions tons of fun but they also provide respite for caregivers.
Mini Mermaid Running Club UK work groups of girls and boys at Primary schools and local community centres around the Hackney and Islington area, and want female Coaches and Mentors, and male Coaches and Mentors to help them support young people and help them build self-confidence through a 6-8 week self-development and running programme. No running experience needed!
