VCH is currently seeking  new trustees who have ideas, ambition and passion, and are keen to share these to help our small but impactful charity grow.

We know that whilst we do good work, there are potentially many new ideas that will help people to volunteer and share their skills, that we are not able to develop, as we do not have the resource. We need new trustees, who have a passion for volunteering, and who are keen to help us raise our profile, who may have skills in marketing and publicity, in developing new partnerships, in engaging with new communities, or developing new project ideas.

We are looking for people who have
– an interest in providing oversight and direction to a small but effective community organisation;
– long term vision and an understanding of what needs to be done to take the charity forward;
– an ability to recognise new ideas and opportunities;
– and a willingness to take action in addition to the bi-monthly board meetings to help staff to develop business, raise new income and/or any other project with which the staff may need support.

Your help will enable us to both recognise and capitalise on new opportunities, to develop new partnerships and raise more funding, to enable us to grow and develop new innovative and exciting projects to enable as many different people across Hackney to volunteer and share their skills, as possible.

You will gain experience in providing leadership to a small and local charity. You will join an innovative and energetic group of trustees who have real commitment and passion to supporting volunteering. You will learn how a small charity functions, its challenges and its advantages and how services are delivered to meet local needs. You will enjoy knowing that the time you give and the skills you share are truly helping to make a difference to a local charity, and helping to further its cause.

To apply, please send your CV and an email outlining why you would like the role and what you could bring to it, to Lauren Tobias, CEO, on lauren@vchackney.org, or call to discuss the role on 020 7241 4443 ext 2001.
