Hackney hots up this Volunteers’ Week 2018
Charities across Hackney are gearing up for Volunteers’ Week 2018, a national event celebrating the amazing contribution made by volunteering, volunteers and volunteer managers across the country.
From taster sessions volunteering in retail to helping run messy mud play sessions, here are just some of the highlights happening across the borough!

Friday 1 June
Already volunteering in Hackney? Check out the Value You scheme, register for your free card and get saving at businesses across the borough here.
Saturday 2 June and Wednesday 6 June, 11am – 3pm
Drop in and take part in a Cancer Research UK Taster session in Holloway Road. The drop in sessions are perfect for asking questions, seeing how the shop runs and learning what volunteering roles Cancer Research UK offer. Taster sessions are also taking place in the Islington Shop on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 June, 11am – 3pm.
Monday 4, Tuesday 5 and Friday 8 June, various times @ Hoxton Trust
Try out volunteering with Hoxton Trust’s Taster Sessions where you can shadow and learn more about reception volunteering, volunteering with children as part of Mud Monsters, supporting older people, gardening and plant propogration and more. Read more here.
Wednesday 6 June, 4 – 7pm @ Hackney Museum
Volunteer Centre Hackney – Free Get into Volunteering Workshop + VOLUNTEER FAIR
A great introduction for anyone interested in volunteering – come along and find out more about what’s involved and what roles are on offer across the borough at Hackney Museum.
