‘I’m glad I volunteered. My industry has suffered during lockdown and I may be financially poorer, but I’ve been richer for getting involved.’

This June will see our current Head of Volunteering go on maternity leave. Volunteer Centre Hackney is therefore looking for someone to take on this maternity cover role and continue developing and coordinating all aspects of VCH’s volunteering service.

This is a key role at VCH, helping to develop and sustain vibrant communities across Hackney through the power of volunteering. You’ll be spearheading the delivery of our services with a view to attracting more people to volunteer in new and challenging ways. 2020 saw us support over 1400 people to share their skills and time with others, and VCH want to sustain and even increase this level of interest during 2021-22.

Alongside service delivery, this role involves strategic planning, people management, partnership building and impact management. We’re looking for someone passionate about supporting people to get involved in their community, with previous experience of planning, developing, delivering and evaluating volunteer projects and services.

Read more about the role and apply here. Application deadline is Wednesday 5th May 2021 at 9am. If you have any questions about the role, please call Charlotte on 020 7241 4443 ext. 2008.
