emmaawardCongratulations to all the organisations and individuals who were nominated or won awards particularly those based in Hackney including Hackney New School, St Joseph’s Hospice, Leon at Core Arts and our very own VCH volunteer Emma Martins, who took home the Volunteer Centre Award. Emma has an amazing story. She suffered a brain disease in 2014, which affected her coordination, word recognition, mobility and eyesight. She had to re-learn how to walk, cook, use money, and even draw an exclamation mark! After one year at VCH, she can now type, use a telephone and has been an amazing help.
