Every member is different, with their own unique story, own memories and experiences, good and bad, but they are fighting for a better future, even though its hard they stick with Step Up, for however long it takes. Every member of Step Up has their own unique strength, and I’m happy that I can give a little support to get them to a better place.
Refugee Week runs from the 19th-25th June this year, and celebrates the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. Since the theme for this year is compassion, we’d like to share a few ways you can gift your time as a volunteer to support refugees and asylum seekers.
Over 1,000 people have donated their time as volunteers to help others in Hackney over the past year. Especially in the current climate, it’s crucial to recognise the contribution of volunteers to the local community.
