Volunteers across the country will be thanked for their contributions during Volunteers Week 2019 which runs from 1 to 7 June – and volunteers in Hackney will be too! Volunteers are the backbone of countless charities and other organisations. They are a valuable presence in many communities, making a difference in places as diverse as sports clubs, libraries, schools and hospitals.  VCH has lots going on over Volunteers Week – come along and get involved!  All these events take place at Volunteer Centre Hackney, 5 Tyssen St E8 2LY.

Drop In – Discover Volunteering, 5 and 6 June
Last year Volunteer Centre Hackney helped over 400 local people find volunteer roles in their community – could we help you find your role? Drop into the centre on Wednesday or Thursday for a cup of tea and chat with our friendly advisors, and discover more about volunteering and what’s on offer. No need to book, just come in! All welcome.
When: Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 June, 10.30am – 5pm

Making a Difference – Social Action Workshop, 5 June
Want to make a difference in your local area? Got an idea for a project or activity that will bring people together and tackle a local issue? Come along to this informal session and discover more about where to start and what help you can get to make your project a reality. Free event but spaces must be booked in advance, just email [email protected] or  call 020 7241 4443.
When: Wednesday 5 June, 6.30pm – 8:30pm

Volunteering Live! 6 June
Come along and take part in a short, one-off volunteering opportunity with Volunteer Centre Hackney! We’ll be getting creative and making cards and letters to be sent to young people and children in hospital with the help of our volunteer Tabs. Free refreshments, all welcome including children. No need to book.
When: Thursday 6 June, 10.30am – 1pm
